On 9 December 2024, the processing of applications from applicants from Syria was temporarily suspended. Since then, only interviews and decisions for persons with protection status in another EU Member State have been continued. All other decisions have been suspended.
This suspension is extended until at least the end of July 2025. At present, there is still insufficient objective information available to assess the fear of return for all profiles of applicants who present themselves, nor is there sufficient information on the security situation in all regions of the country.
